River Wood

Old Nine hauls pine and cypress logs from local river bottoms. These are trees that were milled during lumber boomtimes well over a century ago that can range in age as old as 500 years. Rivers were used to transport logs to the nearest sawmill for production. The wood becomes extremely dense over time and takes on a deep rich, natural color from the tannin content in our south Georgia waters

Some uses of Old Nine River Wood include :

  • Furniture
  • Trim and molding
  • Cladding - interior & exterior siding, wall & ceiling panels
  • Fence posts and rails
  • Pergolas, gazebos & outdoor structures

Old Nine controls every step of the production process from sourcing and salvage to creation of finished products. Heart Pine and cypress River Wood are available in rough sawn or finished boards in various grades and dimensions. We can mill to your custom design specs

The Old Nine team has decades of experience in forestry, milling, construction and distribution. We're always available for a visit to discuss your project and show you some south Georgia hospitality
